Sunbury Hire is owned and operated by James Grover, who brings over three decades of experience in the earthmoving industry, dating back to 1985. A factory-trained JCB specialist, James built his expertise through roles with the Tutt Bryant Group, Melbourne Tractors, and Proquip, before moving into diesel mechanic contracting.

As demand for short-term machinery solutions continues to grow, Sunbury Hire draws on years of industry expertise and a deep understanding of which equipment delivers the best results for each job.

Every machine in our fleet is serviced in-house, checked over thoroughly before and after each hire, and offered with straightforward advice on suitability for the job. We're not just a hire depot — we're machine people first.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes — local delivery is available by request. Just give us a call to confirm price and availability.

Is fuel included?

No — all machines must be returned with a full tank of diesel.

Can I pick up?

Yes, we offer depot collection. Most machines come on a plant trailer with mechanical brakes.

What licence do I need?

You must be a competent operator. Some sites may require a white card or relevant ticket — check your site’s requirements.

Do you offer wet hire (operator supplied)?

No — we only offer dry hire. However, we’re happy to advise what kind of operator would suit the job.
